Iran like any country on this planet has a right to develop peaceful nuclear energy. Why should any nation on Earth be deprived of this right? Other nations have peaceful nuclear energy programmes and these should be encouraged in order to reduce the dependency on hydro-carbons for energy. Every nation on Earth must use nuclear energy responsibly and this includes Iran, India, Pakistan, Russia or the United States of America. Every nation has a right, but every nation also has a responsibility.

Yes, but nukes is serious stuff. Its something that needs to be kept under control.

If you lived in a house that had no windows and you couldn't move from that house. And your neighbor started burning oil everyday coming right into your house morning noon and night.. Do you think you'd be friendly with that neighbor? Hey, your neightbor has the freedom to burn whatever he wants. Now, you are stronger than your neighbor, and your family is choking every night from the fumes... I bet you wouldn't sit back and let him keep burning oil

Anybody that says IRAN can do whatevery they want is NAIVE!!! You have it very good in the USA and its peacful. Step outside the USA and its all about survival. Its a tough dog eat dog world out there in 3rd world countries

Its no ones 'right' to have nuclear power...it is their right to be able to act without our interference. Lets not forget, western powers have intervened in that country so many times they despise us. So taking military action is both self-defeating and unjuustifiable. If we dont let them have nuclear power, its just a case of 'do as we say, not as we do'..just remember, only one country in the world has used nuclear weapons, and that was against a country on the verge of surrender...shall we ban Americans from nuclear power?

so long as it's for energy production and not weapons sure. but then, that was the whole reason for their nuclear program, they were acknowledging that their oil is going to run out soon, and they needed an alternative energy source.

If it is truly for a peaceful purpose then I think they should. The problem is that with such an extremist government that has vowed the destruction of Israel, why would anyone not seriously question their motives?

But of course.
Just like everyone has a right to have a kitchen knife at home.
The only problem arises if the kitchen knife is used for violent attacks and threats on the neighbours.
