No, not only is it a criminal offense in most countries of the western world, it is deceptive and kind of immoral. I didn't marry my wife for that, nor did she. I'm Canadian and she is American. We have lived in both countries for several years. It is tough to do the whole immigration thing, but you will not have to be looking over your shoulder all the time. One other thing to consider is that you would have to be his sponsor and if he went on welfare any time in the next 7 years or so, you would have to pay it back. That person could screw you badly.

No, one should not marry a person for unmeaningful gains such as getting a visa or whatever it is, as marriage is a sacred relationship. Such marriages donot stay for a long time.

Be careful the tax side of it can be really complicated. My best friend had a lot of problems i did her taxes for 5 years when she was "married" I know a lot about it. It cost her at least $5,000 in taxes because of his income that wasn't taxed. He had no money and since they were married IRS garnished her wages, it was bad.

No. That shows no respect for the sanctity of marriage. This is just another reason why the dirvorce rate is so high.

dangerous situation......can you live with your conscience? depends on your own relationship towards her /him or if you planning to get married for real. but then...to make such a promise to the Lord.... i would think twice

i dunno the law here in australia, but if there was enough money and good sex to persuade me, it would be a crime not to i suppose.
