Nobody likes me, everybody hates me,
Guess I'll go eat worms,
Long, thin, slimy ones; Short, fat, juicy ones,
Itsy, bitsy, fuzzy wuzzy worms.
Down goes the first one, down goes the second one,
Oh how they wiggle and squirm.
Up comes the first one, up comes the second one,
Oh how they wiggle and squirm.
Version II
Nobody loves me, everybody hates me
Think I'll go and eat worms
Long ones, short ones, fat ones, thin ones
See how they wriggle and squirm
I bite off the heads, and suck out the juice
And throw the skins away
Nobody knows how fat I grow
On worms three times a day
Ohh...nobody loves me.
Version III:
Nobody likes me, everybody hates me,
Think I'll go eat worms.
Big fat juicy ones, Eensie weensy squeensy ones,
See how they wiggle and squirm.
Chomp off their heads and squeeze out the juice
And throw their tails away
Nobody knows how I survive
On worms three times a day.
Version IV:
Nobody likes me, everybody hates me
I'm goin' down the garden to eat worms
Long thin slimy ones, short fat fuzzy ones
Ooey gooey, ooey gooey worms
Long thin slimy ones slip down easily
Short fat fuzzy ones don't
Short fat fuzzy ones stick to your teeth
And the juice goes slurpin' (slurping noise) down your throat
Version V:
Nobody likes me, everybody hates me,
think I'll go eat worms...
big fat juicy ones, little slimy skinny ones,
hope they don't have germs!"
No idea of the origin - I think it's just a folk song

Nobody loves me
Everybody hates me
Going to the garden to eat worms
Big fat juicy ones
Tiny little squiggly ones
Watch them wriggle and squirm
Bite their heads off
Suck their juice out
Throw their skins away
I don't see how birds can live on
Worms three times a day
Nobody loves me
Everybody hates me
Going to the garden to eat worms
Long thin slimy ones
Short fat juicy ones
Gooey, gooey, gooey, gooey, worms
Long thin slimy ones slip down easily
Short fat juicy ones stick
Short fat juicy ones stick between your teeth
And the juice goes slurp, slurp, slurp
I can't find where it comes from but my mother knew it from Guides in the 1920's! I think it may be a music hall song or perhaps one from one of the Pierrot seaside shows in the early 20th century. Several people seem to think the tune is similar to "Polly Wolly Doodle" - I can't make the words fit, though, lol!
It may have been in the film Dr Doolittle, amongst others, but I can't find a reference that says it was for sure!

It's actually a folk song... you can find it published in the WEE Sing series by Pamela Beall and Susan Nipp.
Since it's a folk song, it is probably public domain...and has been used in a variety of films.
---man you care taking me back to my childhood...lol

Wow ! thought I was the only one who knew that song.
I'd give 10 points to that chap Perkins who knows about 8 different versions of it though - that's REALLY sad !!
