Well look around you. Every created thing accept the snail needs a partner of the opposite form to reproduce itself. Vegetation need bees, and butterflies and bugs to pollinate in order to reproduce themselves. I know many sweet gay people, but they will never be able to reproduce themselves. Homosexuality is deviant behavior from what has been the norm in every society since the world began. Where would this world be with only gays and no heterosexuals? They'd cease to exist. Nature is the strongest testimony against homosexuality. Gays may be able to get someone's sperm or egg but it will never ever be the two partners that reproduce themselves as one. The family unit has always been father and mother and offspring, However with time has it has broken up the result is what we see today in our children and young adults. I certainly would not call this a happy generation in this world. People are driven in search for some kind of peace. I cannot even begin to imagine what the future holds for kids that do not have both a father and mother in the home. It's a self-evident truth, homosexuality is deviant behavior from the norm.

A deviant behavior depends on the norms of the society you are in. In the Philippines, our norms sees homosexuals as deviants. Being different from the usual.
But if you go in the Netherlands, being nomosexual is not a deviant behavior because for them its normal.

Well, the actual statistic for prevalence is around 1-2%.
(The 10% was quoted out of convenience, but even people in the gay movement, in order to gain credibility, are now admitting the number was faulty.)
I think because we've made homosexuality into an identity issue (I don't know if any other culture in history did this, or not many of them), a lot more people will play around with it or become confused over who and what they are. It's hard to judge a "true" percentage.
The "rat" experiment someone mentioned sounds a little bizarre. I would point out that homosexual behavior is rampant in prisons, with so few women available and sexual release being desired... but this doesn't mean these men identify as "gay" and if released into society would gravitate right back to women. They're hets.
Well... I've seen a fair number of unhealthy heterosexual relationships in my life. The sad thing is that, so far, all the homosexual friends I've had and relationships I've known were unhealthy, or unstable, or tumultuous. Oh, they were all creative and imaginative, highly competent, wonderful people -- but I was bowled over to see that they all had terrible relationships with their families and were very wounded people in general.
And they tended to react in ways that were not conducive to healthy relationships now. So it could be partially a symptom of deep-seated problems, with the genetic component (which seems to exist) contributing to the type of disposition that can easily become homosexual.
One could say that some of these fractured relationships and pain can be blamed on society's stigma of homosexuality; but I don't think that explains nearly all of the woundedness and hurt in these people's lives.
As anecdotal evidence, a therapist friend said she once counseled twelve professed lesbians. During treatment, she discovered that all twelve had been abused as children. During the course of therapy, four (on their own -- my friend was "neutral" and simply guided the exploration) decided they were never lesbians to begin with. And who knows what's up with the rest? How much of their sexual identity was the result in part of some deep inner pain? I don't know.
I am not saying that abuse happens in every situation, but it's more prevalent than you would expect, and the fact cannot be ignored. And just emotional abuse can be devastating as any sort of physical or sexual abuse, especially to very sensitive boys, very kind-hearted boys.
Although you didn't ask this, I think the goal of therapy is to produce "healthy" people, not to "cure homosexuality." If during the course of becoming healthy someone realizes that they no longer identify as homosexual, then that's fine.
But making homosexuality the focus of one's therapy seems to me to be wrong. It usually means you end up arguing about whether the sexual preference is "good" or "bad" in itself and not working on the deep issues.
Just from a personal standpoint (and not as any sort of critique of your question), I would not use the term "deviant." I think the word is demeaning in tone and isn't conducive to showing people that they are loved, valued, and accepted. It should be avoided.

I've said this before. The term "homosexual" is a label created by humans as is "deviant". Many species including humans display normal variations in behaviors, including sexual behaviors.

Well it can't really be considered 'normal' per se because only something like one tenth of the population is gay or lesbian, but deviant is too strong a word... aberrant might be a better term or anomalous maybe. Whatever you call it there is no good reason why a rational human being shouldn't at least tolerate it. Please feel free to refute my argument if at all possible WITHOUT quoting scripture, thanks.
