My friend has this problem with her vagina at the moment and wants to know it anyone can help. She said that around her labia, its really itchy and theres something like white stuff on the area thats itchy. She said she has no abnormal discharge, normal odour, and nothing else out of the ordinary. She predominatley thought it was thrush, but as theres no irritation in or around the opening, shes thinking thats not it - if anyone could be of any help it would be appreciated. Oh, also, she hasnt caught any STD's or anything cos she hasnt started sleeping with anyone new. Thanks, i know its a bit gross, but was hoping to get some info for her before she goes to the doc

Once i had the same problem.....It was from shaving well i think all it was was dead skin.

Tell her to to buy some vagisil and see if that helps if it don't then she might need to see a doctor.

Small itchy spots near your vaginal area could be related to an allergic reaction, a sexually transmitted infection, etc. If the vaginal itching did not start until after you had unprotected sexual intercourse and if the itching is still occurring, then you should make an appointment with a health care provider for an evaluation.Vaginal itching could be related to a variety of factors.
Vaginal itching could be a symptom of a vaginal infection or a yeast infection.

This condition is very common and can be caused by:
tight clothing, perspiration
antibiotics
monthly hormonal fluctuations
allergic reaction, dermatological causes
vaginal dryness, sexual activity
If you experience irritation and itching, try Original Strength Vagisil® Creme. For painful, burning itch try Maximum Strength Vagisil® Creme. If your symptoms don't improve in 7 days see a doctor.

Well, if I was a woman I would go to the doctor anyway and find out what it is before it gets worst. We can't see it and were not doctors so that might be the best route without wasting time and money on something that its not. Just my opinion. If it was my wife she would be at the doc. and if it was a STD and I don't have it, she would be to the curb. Thanks

It is probably a yeast infection but the first thing that came to mind is the std chlamydia, remember she doesn't have to be sleeping with someone new, her partner maybe!!! Have her see her GYN for an evaluation.

She probably has a yeast infection, tell her to use monistat, the cream to apply directly on the area or the tablets that you insert....any drug store, wal-mart etc has it...if this doesn't work (I think it will) she needs to see her Dr......if shes been on antibiotics, that will cause a yeast infection....the monistat or any yeast medication will help her within 24 hours and with the cream she'll get immediate relief

First of all, she should determine if it's just normal cervical fluid. Doctors often don't know the difference!! She might be treated for a disease when she is just *normal*!

Tell her to read _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler. It is full of information, and it will help (if not this time, then *next* time).
