No I would not raise the money to help him move out of town. I would befriend him. Get to know him and help him to remain offense free. I would be a support net for him if he needed it.

If he needed to talk, I would be there for him. Rehabilitated former sex offenders are NOT the risk. Your relatives, best friends, coaches, teachers, scout leaders, police officers and other people known to you.

Your children are also more likely to be harmed by a drug dealer/abuser, drunk driver, lightening, gang related incident, playground accident, drowning, and parental neglect or abuse instead of a rehabilitated former sex offender. But you don't know where the drug dealers/abusers, drunk drivers and gangs live in order to protect your children. What that should tell you is that parental supervision is the MOST IMPORTANT job a parent has!

Many of the children that have been horrendously raped and murdered were done so by drug addicts, as well as at times sexual predators. Please note though, not all were committed by sex offenders, but drugs played a huge part instead. As a matter of fact, Joseph Smith was not a sex offender. He killed Carlie Brucia. He was recently sentenced to death. He actually told the judge that when he did this he was tripping on heroine and cocaine.

You can look at the FBI Uniform Crime Reports and find that these things are the truth!

Parents, please watch your children at all times. Even when they are on the internet. I am raising two of my Grandchildren. They are not allowed on the internet unless I am right beside them!

Not that I agree but I believe that person had the rite to live in your area as long as he or she registers with the local sex offenders agency and police departments.

If the person is willing to take the money and move then go for it. That is very thoughtful of you to think of raising the money but I would check with the sex offender first to see if they want to move.

NOPE. We already paid enough money to have him tried, jailed etc. You need to take the responsiblity for the choice YOU made and find a nice farm in the country (FAR AWAY) from children and women.

he/she is a criminal.... one of the worst kind. if you give him/her money to leave town do you really think he/she would....NO...spread the word to the rest of your neighbours this person should never have been allowed to settle in any neighbourhood...he/she should have been locked up for life at the very least.

Unfortunately you can't really do anything bout it. I would make sure that you keep your children away from him, stay away from him, warn all your neighbors if they don't know already.
