Actually being from New Zealand I would like to state that New Zealand cannot technically be defined as being from a continent. Oceania is the collective pacific islands, which although we have highly influential precence we are not part of.

If I had to awnser and (though this would not be accepted by many New Zealanders) we are part of Australasia.

Again New Zealand is a Island and is like stating Great Britain as part of European Continent. I would approach the classification with caution

Oceania, which is the politically correct way of incorporating all the Islands surrounding Australia. Back in the day it was known as Australia.

NZ belongs to Oceania, no matter wether it's an island or not. UK is also an island but it belogs to the European continent. Japan is also formed by several islands, but it belogs to the Asian continent.

It's an island. The nearest continents are Australia and Antarctica. It used to be a part of Gondwana.
