Always get it in writing before embarking on any contractural situation. Make sure the company agrees to what is in the contract and that your part is agreeable to you. Otherwise, you may come out on the short end of the stick and the company will assume they took the risk and furnished much more toward the project than they actually did

Your "profit" comes to you in the form of a pay check on a regualr basis. When you are building something for a company as one of their employees, any designs, intelectual property, etc that you create belongs to the company unless you have an agreement to the contrary.

If your job is to make the bike than the bike is property of the company and you are only entitled to the pay they give you unless you have an agreement worked out before hand.
