Is it a problem with the decoder if it is where can i download a decoder

windows media player lacks many codecs. you should try downloading vlc player from videolan.org . it is a very goo dplayer - has all the codecs! it even plays unfinished files, bit files etc... enjoy!

Windows Media Player Sucks outright . Get PowerDVD or NeroShowtime or Media Player Classic (free) to watch DVD's . however if you are hell bent on seeing them in wmp then get any one of these :

First check to see that your internal DVD player is connected to your soundcard using small thin black and red wires and a small two to four-prong connection.
