You have a team with Rooney but it's not as good as you might think. I just quit working in England for a major Sports betting company. Am still under secrecy contract but Basically it works like this. The major bookies in England all agree without actually agreeing(because that would be highly illegal) that England will be the second favourites when the booking ring started after the teams qualified last year. It therefore leads to a mass of home fans laying millions of pounds on England to win. There are strong players in England but they cannot play as a unit, this is repeatedly mentioned the minute England qualified at every conference to which the cream of all major betting companies and subsidiaries attend.Putting it bluntly ,not one bookie really believes the odds England were set at and none of them want them to progress further than the quarter's. Me personally i Think England will get to quarters but they are not strong enough to beat Italy, Argentina, Brasil,Czech's or Holland. If they meet anyone of these teams They will not progress any further.

The team is arguably better with Rooney in it, but we still have enough world class players besides Rooney to give us a fighting chance in the World Cup. Our defense is as good as any in the world, we have at least three world class midfielders and we have a proven goalscorer, and former European Player of the Year, in Michael Owen. And then there is also the recent form of Peter Crouch to throw into the mix. So we have a great chance even without Rooney, but an even better chance with him!

Yes but it may lack the same firepower. However, he is back training ahead of schedule so he may be back in time for the World Cup. ITV was speculating that "No Wayne no gain" so England supporters will be heartened by the news. Current expectations are that he will be back by the knockout stages.

Of course we do. We have Peter 'The Robot' Crouch, Mikey and, best of we have Stevie G! He'll win it for us like he won the Reds the Champions League last year and the FA Cup this year. Got your flags on your car yet?

Of course. England has enough world-class players to be able to do well wothout Rooney.
Although, his presence would make a a great difference.
