Here is just a bunch of thoughts to this questions.
I think that if you are not knowledgeable in the presentation you have lost your audience.
Need to have relavent info about what you are talking about.
Have documents that you may show in powerpoint copied to give to the group.
Powerpoint need to be set up early and to make sure you have your info that you need(if it does not work you can use the copies in your presentation and your knowledge will get you through it.
Do not fret if you make mistakes
Practice, practice, practice
Make a joke or two within the presentation to keep your audience with you(people don't want to listen after 15 min. Have an icebreaker to help. Be yourself, stand tall, be yourself and try to keep on track.

The broad structure recommended for any presentation is:
1. Tell them what you wish to tell them
2. Tell them
3. Summarize what you have told them
Obviously the focus of the presentation is the content in "tell them". To arrive at this, here's one suggestion:
1. Brain it - think of all bits of information you may wish to share on the topic, with your target audience in mind.
2. Group it - group all the bits of information, into broad ideas, and then organize the broad ideas into a story line
3. Trim it - keep every thing as short and simple as needed for the message. Cut out all extras - no long winding sentences, no data that is peripheral to the message to be delivered.
4. Spice it - add items to the presentation that will add impact to your presentation, like pictures [worth a thousand words], animations and anecdotes. Don't overdo the spice, though, as that could drown your message.
The last point to remember is the delivery. Unless you are one of the lucky few born with a natural flair for holding your audience's attention when telling stories, practice your delivery [with whatever props you propose to use] till you feel comfortable with the presentation.

(2) No. There is nothing that is foolproof, because just when you think you know it all, someone will ask a question you never thought would be asked. Guess what? You didn't know the answer. So, ponder the "what if's" to all your presentations.

Make up a PowerPoint Presentation, it will look impressive and you won't have to stand there reading off your notes because your notes will actually BE the presentation, on the computer screen for all to see! Make it awesome and impressive! You do the work once, and from then on, you just stand there and click the pages and read it off! Anyone can do it! Good Luck!

Yes! Be confident in your work/presentation. Know answers to every possible question that can be asked. Smile and be friendly and open, but you also need to be secure in what your saying...Even if your bluffing!! "Never ever let them see you sweat" is an old expression. If you believe they will believe.
If they dont have questions, pose your own questions and provide clear precise answers. But dont over do it (dont come across cocky). Always smile, even if it's a small one - keep eye contact, and always THANK THEM FOR THEIR TIME (but dont over do it); TRY a firm hand shake, with those closest to you.

Thorough preparation and research is essential to a good business presentation.Provide concise,easy to understand written materials for your audience.Keep your notes handy,and project confidence and exitement to your audience.your audience will not buy your idea if they are asleep!
