I can remember my father saying the same thing when I was a kid... Shame on him for not recognising Cyndi Lauper and Duran Duran as the geniuses they were!

But now I'm saying the same thing... Am I right? Or can you help to prove me wrong...

No, you're correct, there is nothing on the radio. All of what's being played now is fabricated by un-bands... instead of when we were growing up when bands were discovered instead of being 'made'. We really have Milli Vanilli to thank for the current trend. It's ironic, when Milli Vanilli was uncovered as a fake, they were basically drummed out of the business. But, today, you'll find Milli Vanilli's all over the place (Ashlee Simpson) and yet they still release CDs. Go figure.

You are absolutly right! Every century had its music stars - and its own style ...
Although all those 1990s Eurodance songs were a bit annoying - they were typical - and when I hear them at the radio nowadays or when I listen to old CDs, then I 1.) think of the "good ol´days" and 2.) I still know the lyrics (although most of them were stupid)

But these days - nothing but cover-versions from 1970s and 1980s songs, artificial artists from Star Searches (who will remember them in 10 years) ... The music is simply boring ...

(I´m 22 - I don´t think I´m old)

FM has been crap for a while. I used to listen to underground/pirate stations in the 60's/70's when FM took chances. No anymore - All formula, subpar, assembly-line music which is forgotten in a week.

Get satelite radio or find some good web radio stations (like on Live365.com).

You want genius ? Try the Beatles, the Doors and Jimi Hendrix.

Boy do I agree with you on this subject.
I myself enjoy listening to the good ole rock n' roll of the 50's, 60's and a bit of the early 70's too.
If only the radio stations would once again play the really "GOOD" stuff I would be doing my job faster and enjoy it a lot more too.
BRING BACK THE GOOD OLE MUSIC ONCE AGAIN THEN WE CAN REALLY ROCK!

I tend to look for the oldies stations which play 60's through today's music. There's always talk radio and public broadcasting too.

I think there's great stuff on the radio today.. new and old. Try an "80s, 90s and today" station.. you won't find anything too extreme on those.
