A normal bat will usually have nothing to do with people. They have the potential to have rabies and a rabid bat will go after anything. This is rare, however, and they do a world of good at getting rid of bugs.

Bats don't bite you if they can help it. They eat insects (at least where you live) not humans. Like snakes, rancoons and other wildlife they will do anything to avoid having contact with you.

Be glad to have bats around the house. Mosquitos are much, much more dangerous and a bat-family can reduse the number of mosquitos round your house by as much as 90% making them more effective over the season than any pestiside...problem for most people is how to get them and you want to get rid of them?

If one would get close (f.i. you catch it or pick one up) the only thing they can do is knibble a bit. It would be just a little bit more then a scratch. Being insecteaters their mouths are just big enough to fit on the tip of your little finger. This is pretty harmless unless your prey has rabies. Bats with rabies are a problem best solved through official channels.

OK, a bat won't bite a person if the person doesn't attempt to touch it. If you ignore it it will ignore you.

If you do touch the bat it will almost certainly bite you. Leave it alone. They are mostly harmless and only pose a threat if you try to grab them.

And the good news is that if a bat flew TOWARDS a light it almost certainly doesn't have rabies, which is the only thing to fear from a bat. Rabies makes aniamls avoid light.

It's probably hanging around the light because the light is attacting insects. Turn the lightoff and it will probably eat all the bugs and move on to better feeding grounds in a few minutes

Just leave it alone.

No they don`t, the only Bloodsucking bats are over seas. They do not live in America. Other bats don`t want anything to do with us and Bats really are everywhere. They just avoid us.. Now the good thing is, They eat their own weight in mosquito`s/bugs every night. So don`t freak. The movies have really not told the truth..

Only in abnormal circumstances will the bats interact with people, they are more interested in feeding on the insects that maybe attracted by your lights, or your body or plants near your house. If it gets near you it is not you it wants, So don't swing at it or try to kill it or injure it in any way. Other than spiders and weather. Bats are one of the most helpful and harmless insect controllers we have. If it does get in your house Keep open the door it will find its way out. or call animal control for help. DON'T KILL IT. Our Lives are much better with bats than without them.

Only vampire bats will bite you and only while you are asleep. The only way any other bat may bite you is if you grab hold of it and it bites you in an attempt to get free. Otherwise, stop being a girl.

Bats sleep during the day and become active in the evening. They are very beneficial eating many insects such as mosquitoes. On rare occasion (like when they become trapped) they have been known to bite.

So, as long as you are not trying to catch/trap the bat..you should not have to worry about going outside. In fact, going outside may be more enjoyable with the bat around because you wont have as many mosquitoes to worry about.!

I hardly think that bats 'bite'.Personally I think that they are more startled by you than you are of the 'bastard.' I wouldn't worry about it too much.Look up a reliable website that gives information on bats, that might help.

Bats have likely been outside of where you live forever. They are everywhere. No, under normal circumstances 99.999999% of the time bats will not bite.

Normally no. However, if they are carrying rabies they WILL. I had to undergo rabies treatment after being bitten by a rabid bat.
