Because when you put a man a d a woman together, they become one. That is why each have something that the other does not have. ie. boobs, penis, vagina, ego, strenght (physical vs biological) (egotistical vs bitchh-ical), etc...

for anything we normaly differentiate for convenience.....for ex. male and female......boy and girl....man and woman.....likewise Sex and Opposite Sex
