it depends on what country you live in! If your student can go sue you after you cane him ... then obviously it wasn't too effective.

But if the caning knocks some sense into to the kid, then it becomes very effective and useful

Remember by no means should any permanent physical injuries be incurred while caning. light bruises should be the most tolerated.
