Sad to note the beastly behavior of some USA marines. They tarnished the glory of liberators. Please pull them back. They are spoiling the good name of Americans.

Abu Gharib ... ooooh scary, dogs barked at me, someone put underwear on my head, a woman pointed at me and laughed. Big deal.

Guantanamo ... tell me, what happened there. FACTS, not the NewsWeek/60 Minutes lies. Air conditioned rooms, 3 hots and a cot, meals made specially for them. WOW that's real torture.

Haditha ... you don't know what happened there, I don't know what happened. All we know is that there has been an investigation, all of the Marines were given thumbs up on a job well done. No soldier is being charged with anything.

OK now let's look at the guys we are fighting:
-using women/children as bombs
-beheadings, kidnappings, REAL torture, rape
-blowing up anything and everything with IEDs
-these guys would kill you, your family, and everyone you know if you gave them half a chance

So before you want to wring your hands and shout THOSE POOR PEOPLE. Look at the facts before you dump on Pres Bush and our marines and demand we leave.

I am really disappointed when I read some of the above answers. Today with the satellite systems, with the Internet, with the maturity of the humanity in general and the peoples in particular, no one can hide any thing.
Promoting Democracy has never been the task of bush. Bush is not a tutor of the peoples. Bush has better to defend the American Indigenous against the white invaders in North America, the american blacks against the racism they are still suffering till today. Arabs have their civilization, culture and they are adult, as any other nation, to choose the way to fit with their needs and desires. It is true, currently, Arabs suffer of the lack of Democracy (not Bush's Democracy), but Americans and Europeans are for a big part responsible and caused this disaster, by supporting dictators, giving them refuges, and helping them to oppress their people. To come back to the question, Bush is the first responsible of all what is happening in Irak, AbouGrib, Haditha, Guantanamo, Afghanistan.....Isn't he who gave order to his troops to invade Irak although the refuse of the International Community??? Isn' t he who appointed and maintained his Minister of the defense although the lot of mistakes he committed and popular and military appeals to fire him?? We have to plead for freedom, justice and equality and denounce the colonialisme, the contempt and the fanatism.

As you stated in your own question, It's the behavior of some US Marines, Bush wasn't there abusing them. Place blame where blame belongs on the sick Military men who are doing it.
