I remember that I was issued with a Spanish death certificate which was then translated in the UK, where my husband is buried. He died in a town near Nerja on 3rd August 1995.
I seem to have lost the original Spansih certificate and any translation. I am in reciept of a UK widow's pension and probate was completed; so I must have had all the necessary documentation at the time. I now need proof of his death to enable me to remarry later this year. Can anyone help me make a start on getting duplicate.

You should contact the british embassy in spain.
They must be having the record of all deaths, births etc of uk citizens there.
they will then help you find a duplicate certificate.
or if it was translate in spain only, then there is the possibility that the embassy must be having it for their records.
just a few phone calls and letters should do it -

You should be able to get duplicate certiicate from registry office in uk where it was translated

I'm sorry to about your husband....My advice will be to contact the Spanish Embassy for advice.

go to british embassy in spain or alternatively in u.k. u can get a duplicate

as you have said,start back in spain's vital staticis/birth/death records,or just have the insurance companies records re-checked.
