never say never, perpetual motion is easy, though some say i'm so strange that i must be from another planet, maybe that's why i keep coming up with perpetual motion/over-unity/free energy devices!

Perpetual motion machines are forbidden by the second law of thermodynamics. Specifiaclly, the creation of entropy. It's difficult to explain, but it's the same reason that all the air molecules in the room that you're in don't all collect in one corner all by themselves. It's not that they can't, it's just extremely unlikely that they will. There's a whole bunch of math involved, that's why they call it statistical thermodynamics, but you probably don't want any of that. But I digress... In order to get a machine to do anything, you'll need a source of energy, but as soon as that energy is applied, some of it is lost creating heat or light, or sound, or friggin' something. Now, you don't have as much energy as you started with and as the cycle continues, you'll continue to lose more and more energy to the universe until your perpetual motion machine comes to a grinding halt. If you have 2 hours, try looking up entropy on wikipedia.

In any system or machine there are energy losses such as heat, friction. To overcome these energy losses more energy is required. By definition, a perpetual motion machine may not have energy in the system replaced, therfore amy physical system will eventually run out of energy

Because of Inertia. The Newton's law "every body continues to be in a state of rest or of uniform motion unless acted upon by an external fagent called force" explains Inertia.
Friction is the culprit in opposing motion. So frictional forces prevent us from having perpetual motion

well the simplicity to this ? is that we as man have not all the elements in creation yet at our disposal, once we as man find and become wise to these elemantsthenand only thenwe will be able to create such a device.hopefully the gemini dust mop has a few clues, remember that carbon based fuels are the norm for this planet and to go against the grain one may get a sliver the smithsonian has a perp motor

Because of the law of Conservation of Energy. It states that all the energy of a system remains constant. This includes kenitic and potential energy. So no matter how many springs and levers you hook together you can't get out more energy than you put in.

If you want more details on this just search "conservation of energy" and you will have plenty of knowledge at your finger tips.

It's so simple!!
If u say machine that moves then it obviously got to use some energy to move!!!!
If it uses energy then there must be some energy source!!!!!

Now just try 'n' find a perpetual energy source????????
Not possible!!!!!!!!!!

if you can find a way to harness zero point energy then you can make such things. right now we cant.
