A technical writer translates technical jargon into layman's terms, for things such as systems specifiations, engineering manuals, marketing materials, customer user guides.

The writer takes documentation from the techies, in whatever form they give it, written, verbal, through group meetings. This can be done remotely.

The salary depends on expertise in the field, ability to work independently. From $30,000 to $80,000
