Valuations went ahead of the earnings and the market was ignoring all the bad news and marching past all the goal posts. Once the wise investors started to pullout the market corrected and as it always happens the corrections were sharp and steep.
Now the market is fairly valued, those long time investors who were waiting on the sidelines will use the opportunity to invest again.
If you bet for a minimum of 3-5 years then it will rise. Short term the volatility will continue.
Good luck.

The basic reason for the fall of Sensex is the long pending correction, and profit booling by small time investors.
It will rise agin in the near future as the economy looks quite healthy.

The index was intentionally brought to very high level by few who wanted to get out of the market without caring for long term gains. u may call them investors turned speculators. stability is expected only when long term investors shed their fear and reenter the market.chances are they may come in @ 9500
