Open the picture with paint, maybe shrink the attributes. And then resave the picture as a JPEG. It should work.

Go to your Microsoft office program and choose Microsoft Photo Editor.
Load the photo that you want to shrink.
Click on "Image", then choose "Re-size."
You can shrink the picture in cm, inches, or pixels. I'd suggest that you choose "pixels" and shrink the file to approximately 600 x 400. That will certainly be small enough to upload.
These same general guidelines can be used to shrink jpeg files in many kinds of photo software.

Files in .jpg format are typically less in size. Reduce the quality of the image for lesser size as well. Additionally, you can crop the image if you feel you want to.

You will probably need a photo resizer, try looking at majorgeeks.com for some really good photo resizers...

try a small nifty image program called irfanview, it has an image resize option in it and many other options to edit images.

a great way is to use--photobucket.. you can post your pics there and this site gives you a URL for each photo. it also resizes them to make them work.
