You should buy a premade scrapbook that is 12x12 with the plastic page protectors.Trust me it's the best option out their.
As from what point of life to start you could start with whats going on now or go back as far as you would like.
Or do many books with different themes..on could be Christmas, anniversaries, birthday parties, vacations, etc.

JoJo,

If you like touching and feeling while scrapbooking, it is traditional scrapbooking. Get one 12x12 scrapbook from any local store like JoAnn or Hobby Lobby. I recently purchased one scrapbook from Kohl's - 55% off. I paid $19 for a $40 deluxe scrapbook. The scrapbook is manufactured by Burnes. It is gorgeous and super for ling time memory keeping. The best thing I like it is that there is free scrapbook software within it.

If you do not have much time or just start scrapbooking, I suggest you try digital scrapbooking.

I am a digital scrapbooking fan. My favorite digital scrapbooking software is Scrapbook Flair from www.scrapbookflair.com. It has powerful features, and is very easy and fun to use. It is FREE too. Most stuff I usually have to buy, such as scrapbook templates, embellishments and backgrounds, are FREE at Scrapbook Flair.

Scrapbook Flair is also the most fun scrapbook sharing community site on the Internet in my opinion.

Well you could check out Martha stewart, or HSN. They sell on HSN scrapbook kits with every thing you need to get started. I also saw at Walden Book Store kits that they had for sale. Some people get the note book and make their own covers, or decorate them how they like. I have never made one, but have seen some made. They are really nice. It shows that you put a lot of love into them. Depends on what the reason is for also. Someones birthday, wedding, baby shower. My niece also found somthing on the computer that helped her. I can't remember what she said. But there must be something. Maybe there is a scrapbook web site. Check it out. Or someone will will answer this who knows more. Hope so for you. I know I didn't help much, but hope the ideas came in handy. **** luck with your project. I have also seen at the Hallmark stores that they had scrapbooks for sale at one time. But if you have the basics for them, make everything yourself. It would mean more to whomever you are giving it to.

I used to scrapbook and just got rid of all the stuff, because it's too time consuming and the thought process of what to do it too much for someone with ADD. but i have tried this in the past. make one of each. A sample: one album cover you make, and one that is bought. I think if you buy it, it would be sturdy and more professional. Because you are going to personalize your entire inside. Good Luck

jojo its an expensive hobby but well worth the effort. For online help go to www.scrapboxx.com (an australian site) and join the forum groups and then join the Online Scrapping nights. They give you a list of even send you all you need and then you get online at a certain time and have some fun all together with prizes and games etc.
The best thing to do is get a group of photos in a theme, and work from there.

A cheaper (and way easier) way to scrapbook is digital scrapbooking. Look @ sites like twopeasin a bucket.com, or shabbyprincess.com for literally millions of ideas and layouts! There are a lot of sites that let you download papers and embellishments for free, too! Try digiscrap.com and scrapmonkey.com. Just Google free downloadable scrapbooking elements and you will find tons of info. Good Luck!

Check with your local scrapbook supply stores, many offer 'classes' that show different styles or themes. They may have you bring pictures of a graduation and for a small fee supply you with all the little goodies and show you some methods to put it together.

if you really want to know where to start for scrapbook you should just pick a theme of pictures, and they get some scrapbook supplies and crop/cut your pictures, and they put adhesive glue on the back of the pictures so that they pictures will/can stick to the paper. i hope this helps you

it is easier to buy and album with removable pages in plastic sheets. that way you can do any page at any time and put them into order when finished. have heaps of fun and i have found it best to stand albums up caus if you have pages with raised stuff on them it can indent the next page.
