It is really hard almost impossible for me to get rid of cramps without taking pain killers. I have tried heating pads on my abdomen, taking a hot shower, drinking chamomile tea; these only help to soothe the pain but NOT get rid of the pain. The only way for me to get rid of cramps especially bad ones is taking Advil. Also would not recommend birth control pills to get rid of cramps i was on the pill for 1 year and did not make my cramps any better.

A really good way to relieve that pain is to rub Bengay on it and let it soak in. Rub it over your abdomen. The pain should subside greatly. I know it sounds kinda old school but bengay is really good. After Bengay you should use a heating pad and drink hot tea, but be sure not to use the heating pad over top of the Bengay. wait until the bengay has dried in for about 20 minutes. Not a good combo. Hope all works out for ya.

Exercise, make sure you are drinking enough water and eating the right foods. Sometimes a heating pad can help ease the cramps. I used to use an asprin called Vanquish...other asprin/tylenol didn't help...Vanquish was a combination of asprin and tylenol.

Hot tea made with red raspberry leaves. You can add blessed thistle to that to help regulate hormonal levels too. Works in minutes.
Also try putting your feet in hot water and an ice bag on the lower abdomen.

a hot water bottle has become my best friend - no matter what the weather is like! i try to drink tons before my period, as dehydration tends to make the cramps feel MUCH worse.

I haven't found a way to get rid of the pain yet. I guess it will stop when we hit menopause!
