We were very nice to missionary Elders. We even invited them for dinner a few times. The only thing that got our attention about them is that they never came by our home to tell us bye when they had to be placed in another town. we treated them good and invited them in our home. Can They be hypocrits and not real in appreciating what we did for them?

The Rev. Dr. J. D.D. has a lot of good information. (male missionaries serve for two years & female missionaries serve for 18 months ) I would like to add:
The missionaries don't have a choice in where they are assigned or the length of their stay. The church makes all of the assignments for them. As far as romance, the church discourages missionaries to think or have any romantic thoughts or feelings. Their purpose on the mission is to serve the Lord and to teach Gospel.
I'm sure the missionaries enjoyed and appreciated all of your hospitality. I could imagine it would be hard to be away for that lenght of time, leaving all comforts of home. A welcoming smile and a home cooked meal would be appreciated by anyone, near or far. Don't be disheartnened by his transfer. I don't belive he ment to leave without giving you a proper goodbye.

Mormon missionaries (Elders) duty is to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Latter Days. Their purpose is to get the message out. They work from a mission (a facility where all the Mormon missionaries live). Mormon missionaries are volunteers (3 years for males, 2 years for females.)

Having said that, did you decided to become Mormon? Did you attend a local Mormon Church? Met with the bishop? If you still needed instructions, other Mormon missionaries would have been assigned; however, the local Mormon church would be your primary place for instruction. And when Mormon missionaries move to their next assignment, the farewells are done in the local Churches that they are working from.

When Mormon missionaries come to diner, it is to preach the gospel. It is not a social function. Were they polite and thank you for the meal? Probably yes. Did your interested in the Mormon Church change? Probably else there would be other Mormon missionaries mentoring you toward the Mormon Church.

With the facts of how Mormon missionaries operate, do you think they were hypocrites?

What????????? A religious leader using the masses for their own porpoises then discarding them when they no longer see any use for them. I don't believe that's ever happened in the history of man.

Its the inverse.

Hypocrites can be mormons, christians, muslims, wiccans or whatever they choose to be.

It's not a matter of religion, it's a matter of choice.
