We can look at this in a few ways. Lets think of it as Dana doing 1/2 an hour every night for 6 nights. This would be 1/2 and hour times 6 nights. If two 1/2 hours make up one hour, then Dana would have spent 3 hours a night. (30 mins x 6) (remembering that 30 mins x 2 = 1 hour)

If Dana did 1 hour a night then she would have done 6 hours total. (1x6)

So if Dana did half hours each night she would total 3 hours, and 1 hour would total 6. The number closest inbetween these numbers is 5 hours.

The answer is 5 hours.

But i'm glad you tried it first to see i f you could get it yourself.

No 7 is not right. Even if she spent the max allotted time, 1 hour, every night for those six nights she only spent 6 hours total. Now take the min allotted time, 30 min, and times by 6 nights, which gives you 3 hours. B and C are both correct but I would pick C because the question implies that some nights she spent over 30 minutes studying and 5 hours is reasonable and within range.

Albeit correct or not, here is how I would approach it.

Seeing as she spent 0.5 to 1 hour per night I would have to estimate an average of 0.75 of an hour of study time per night. Given that 0.75 x 6 = 4.5 I would have to round to the closest figure (up or down) since it's just asking for a reasonable estimate and choose C, 5hrs.

By the way "texas boy" that answer was completely uncalled for.

Regards.

no- you can't get more than 6 hours per night because there are 6 nights, and (at max) 1 hour/night. 1/2 hour each night would give you 3, but she probably spent more than 1/2 hour at least one night, so it's probably 5

.5 + 1 = 1. 5 / 2 hours (average)

.75 * 6 = 4.5

Round that up to 5

c: 5 hours

Minimum is 3 hours, max is 6 hours. There's no way she could have done 7 hours.
