got an old fart of a computer out of trash, a tower i might add. packard bell, w dvd rom drive 24 spd what is the best way to restore it? and make it a upgraded goodie? please elaborate and tell all.!!!

depends on the processor and RAM...open up the case and make sure these are there.....does it have a good power supply?...blow it out with a can of air and try to boot it up....does it beep a few times?....this is a good sign actually....see if you can at least get into CMOS and determine if the hard drive and optical drives are present...if so, load an operating system and bring it all back to life...=)

ok id say that you should probably give up on that thing. you could replace th components for bout three hundred dollars and spend a month puttin it together or you can spend 400 dollarsand get a nice new basic computer.

you could go to a local computer part store and bring your tower up there and ask them what hardware is compatable with this system and buy the parts,put the parts in,(if you dont know how to do this just ask them if they can upgrade it for you).

you can't upfrade it except to add ram, and harddrive, it probalby is not worth the effort, take it back befoire womone knows you have it
