I would definately ask your physician or midwife about this a.s.a.p as you have a history of preterm labor. Remember contractions don't have to be very rhythmic and depending on the baby's position given your gestation could definately be confined to the back with just a sensation of tightening. For now since you are probably freaking out the best thing to do is number one BREATHE! The baby could use the extra oxygen and so can you. Next try to take a warm shower and then go rest for a few minutes. If the pains go away great but still tell your practitioner next visit. If they are still there or increase GO IN AND GET CHECKED!!!!! Remember also if you feel less than 10 movements in an hour to go in... That is what the labor and delivery nurses are there 24/7 for!! THEY DON'T MIND! They would much rather have a mom who hasn't done this in a while come in, be checked, and be able to firmly say... no problems then to deliver a 25 weeker!

I would say it's too early for Braxton-Hicks contractions to appear & seeing your history of preterm labour with the previous two kids, you are highly recommended for an UltraSound checkup by your Obstetrician apart from the complete clinical check-up. Don't worry, UltraSound is completely harmless, non-invasive procedure for your baby & you.

Sounds like Braxton Hicks Contractions, which are completely normal, but get it checked out! Better to be safe than sorry
