There is no excuse for not using spell-check. Spelling something wrong when you have spell-check available is like getting an F on an open book spelling test. Just plain laziness.

I know right? They act like spelling is their whole identity as if you were being graded ...relax and let the typos fly.. .It shows how little power they have in their own lives when they come on a site like this to correct spelling errors. Wow! Now thats empowerment.

Maybe it is because when you type out a question, you have all the time in the world to look over your work for spelling/grammar mistakes.
At the very least you can click on the "Check Spelling" button.

You're right about there being so many anal retentive people answering questions. Who cares is someone misspells a word here and there. Obviously it was still legible if the answerer was able to read the question and know what they meant! People need to lighten up.

nothing better to do. i say if somebody is calling it out, then they have nothing better to do. there are worse problems in this world than correct spelling. and if you cant see past correcting spelling errors or defending the good name of lip gloss, then sad. and commenting, most people KNOW how to spell "why"

The correcting could possibly be the answerer adding more information. Did you consider that? And what if they are correcting their spelling? Not everyone is satisfied with representing themselves as being illiterate.
BTW...it's "lives", not "lifes".
