i m frm India .. Jana Gana Mana is the national anthem and its lovely... it's so inspiring and u can actually feel waves go thru u as the music goes on... thts hardly a surprise as it was written by a gr8 revolutionary himself...

I'm from the USA and our anthem is "The Star Spangled Banner". It isn't the easiest song to sing but its meaning represents our country. The history of the lyrics written by Francis Scott Key during the bombardment of Fort McHenry has always been inspiring to me. There has been many a time that this song and our flag have brought tears to my eyes, most recently, 9/11/2001.

I think ours is (in accordance with the lyrics) rather melancholic. It’s quite hard to sing. No wonder, it was composed in the middle of the 1800s, so it’s pretty romantic.

It goes on about saving the queen, etc. But I will bore you no further. Good melody though, but some high pitches I can't reach. And now that I'm thinking about it, it might be a little sexist too... (In all our son's command? What about me?)

french "Marseillaise". Unfortunately, we always sing the first stanza which is the most violent (talking about beheading,weapons, blood of the enemy ) . France has been part of Europe for decades, so it's high time we changed the lyrics, choosing more pacific ones.

yeah, am from the philippines and our national anthem is lupang hinirang. it's a nice song but hard to sing really. the melody's okay.
