Only because people assume that being "straight" is the normal/usual occurence. What if being gay "was the normal" and being "straight" was as gay is today? They're different because they are not like anyone else. Neither are you are me. They are just as different as anyone else. And I would like to comment on a posting...

"I am straight but you dont see me, or anyone else who is straight for that matter going around having parades, clubs or bar specifically for them... "

Couldn't you consider s t r i p clubs "straight" bars? Gays do go in clubs like that, but there are usually clubs specifially for them because there are so many people that are uncomfortable with them. And you said bars specifically for them...yeah. Do you knwo how hard it is for gays too meet each other? I know that if I were gay, I'd be glad there are bars like that...you can meet people, and you dont ahve to be tormented or embarassed trying to pick up somebody in another bar..ansd they end up being straight! Taht'd be humiliating. And parades... gay pride. Because the society views them as being so "different" they are proud of it. Would you ahve a parade and boast about being "normal"?? Or about something that you see evry day? No you wouldn't. So thank you.

I think that calling people "Gays" is not politically correct.
This would be no different than calling Black people "Blacks" or White people "Whites"

In fact you should add the term People to these terms to soften them up. Doesn't "Gay People" sound better and less offensive?"

As far as your question: "I do not consider gay people different from society" Because I believe that there is a lot more unspoken, and un-advertised gay sex going on than we think. A lot of straight acting people are gay, or do gay things and you would never know because they never talk about it.

Of course technically they are different, or deviant, not that it matters. However society as a word is a metling pot of mentalities that could never truely alientate any participating members that are mostly "in the box". That is the "Box of shared minds". Most gay people are identical to everyone else, except in the bedroom.

If you want to talk about deviants, I think there are much more deviant people, such as violent people.

If your going to look for different people, or look down at different people then look really low, and you can see different.

Once you look at a Metal-head Necrophelic Cannibal. What's a Gay person?

I don't think you are a psychologist either otherwise you would know: 1) how to spell it or 2) be smart enough to use a spell check.

No gays are not different from society -- I think the people that view gays as different should be banned from society. As far as I am concerned, we don't need any more hatred, intolerance, or stupidity in society.

Gays are a victim of society as well as everyone else.
It is society that tells us what’s wrong.
It is society that dictates our lifestyle and the choices we should make.
This would not be a bad thing but unfortunately those whom are in power break all the rules in deciding our fate. It is those who are in power that seem to be above the law.
How can they expect us (the people) to play by the rules when they (those who are in power) will not? So, in regard to your question do you consider gays as different from the society? Yes I do. We (the people – everyone regardless of sexual preference) all are different? There is got to be something to say in regards to individuality and the belief of personal freedom.

Everyone in society is different.I think they are treated differently in an unjust way such as in legal matters,,I beleive that they should be concidered lets say in the matter if one parishes in a long term relationship,,I feel they should be entitled to every legal right as married couples but then I think that it should be this way for any sex relationship.I would have to say also that people should be able to marry whoever they wish to spend the rest of their lives with. Why should anyone care what someones preference is.I am not gay.

No.

Sexuality gay or "straight" (fcking norms..) makes no productive difference in society. How people orgasm with a partner doesn't shape how I talk with them.

If you mean they don't reproduce? they do and can via insemination etc. or adopt. And if they don't -- is not having children socially aberrant?

Whatever "differences" you're thinking about don't seem very significant. Though I bet there are statistical behavioral, fiscal, lifestyle blablabla "differences" (against what??) but in no way does that make them OUTSIDE society. Unless you think repression and intolerance are valuable for "society".

first of all, you're not a psychologist. but that's beside the point. second, i don't think you should group "gays" as a seperate group, as outcasts. i mean, they don't say things like that about the "straighties." second, there's nothing wrong with being gay. of course they aren't outcasts from society, we are all individuals and only you can determine whether you are going to be outcasted anyway, or, better yet, whether you should even care if you don't fit in. some gay people can be outcasted from society, but only just as some straight people can be outcasted. and in my opinion, being different is a good thing.

I am bisexual. I don't go around telling everyone that though. I don't see gays as a different society. Every race, religion, etc has a clique.

No offense but learn to spell psychologist if you are one. :)

Not really. I don't support their political agenda or lifestyle, but they have a right to choose a sexual preference. I don't really appreciate the emergence of homosexuality in the media nor the ability to raise children in a homosexual relationship. P.S. I doubt that you are a psychologist.
