They don't contribute to society...so why don't they stop whining?

The activists don't contribute to society...and the animals don't provide much more than a good burger. Its not that I don't pity some of them, but don't you suppose that we should be more concerned with creatures that have...hmm...Self Awareness?

May I ask why you'd sooner give a voice to an organism with a brain the size of a peach than to a living, feeling, oppressed, starving human being in africa or even in your own country? Its an issue of Reason, not of heartlessness.

Who doesn't contribute to society -- the activists or the animals?

Did you know that animal abuse laws were in place prior to laws prohibiting the abuse of children? Anti child abuse laws were actually derived from animal abuse laws. So there's something to be said for those who protect.

There was a story in my local paper today. A teacher had brought in a tortoise as a class pet. Over the holiday weekend, vandals came in and bludgeoned the pet for no reason. Shouldn't someone stand up for the animal and those who loved it?

As for the second part of your question posted in additional details . . . the poor starving person already has a voice. The animals do not. How many humans realize that they're made of meat too? Good thing animals don't have the same twisted disregard for our lives as we tend to have over theirs.

It's actually the inverse.

Irritating people become activists because that way they have an activity that justifies their personality.

They are not interested in contributing to society, they just want to make noise to be heard, and get noticed by irritating people.

That's why they are called activists, and not naturalists.

The best way to promote a good deed is not with rethorics, but with the example.

And the most meaningful deeds are done SILENTLY.

You apparently do not like animals or you would have no problem with what they are trying to do to help protect and save abused animals. I find people like you who don't care more irritating. Activists contribute more than you do by sitting at your computer.

Good point. I also like how they would rather kill a human instead of an animal. It's weird to see how someone can be so stupid yet so genuine at the same time. I respect animals, but I'm not going to vandalize someone's house if they mistreat one.

I whole-heartedly agree with Huggy Bear. Besides, I like animals better than most people, so I support any animal activist groups and laws against mistreatment of animals!

most animals do not know they exist. it's been proven that the only three creatures who show signs of self awareness are humans, chimpanzees, and orangutans. so if you're going to use the argument that animals can't talk, then you need to consider that animals don't realize they exist.

animal rights activists are annoying.

Because they want animals to have RIGHTS! I like animals and have enjoyed having pets most of my life--I have always treated them with love and respect, but RIGHTS??? What next dog and cat suffrage?

because they're so rude to people!!! and preach kindness to animals, bit of an oxymoron. (don't get me wrong, i respect animals too, but come on folks, doesn't mean you have to act like them)

Why are you so whinny? Maybe some people care about animals. People are the voice for animals well because DUH they can't speak! Stop thinking about yourself.
