I drive a 1993 Nissan Maxima and I do not know whether or which of the 2 types of freon it uses.

If you have been retrofitted, there should be a blue decal with your retrofit info on it. Look around your car under the hood and you will see a factory label that tells you what is in your car. There is a big difference between r-12 prices and r134A prices.

Good Luck

Just to inform you an ac unit is a completely sealed unit. Freon don't go bad just like in a fridge. When they charge it make sure they use a sniffer due to you having a leak. It could take a year or so to all leak out depending on the leak

If you live in Mexico (country of Mexico and not the state of New Mexico) then any kind of ac charge (old or new ) will cost about 200 peso or $20.00 USD including material and labor.

If it's r134a, about $30.00 plus $10.00 per pound of refrigerant. If it's r12, about $30.00 plus $100.00 per pound of refrigerant.

Most vehicles can be converted for around $100.00 - $200.00 so it's best to have yours converted in most cases.
