No, the IP location is usually the location of Internet Service Provider. It would be the general area. This person could be from a town 4 hours away, though it does seem a bit far.

Nope, the IP addres on email header just show the last place where the data package sent to you. You must trace the data to find the exact IP address.

If the sender use some anonymiser, he can spoof his IP so it's hard to find the exact location/IP.

It is totally dependent to your service provider... the location of the actual server you're connecting to will be the location given. This is due to the fact that the server you are connecting to assigns you an IP address from DNS services... rather than your computer telling the server its address...

Depends on your service provider. Local providers for instance , providers in your city will tell someone the town you live in. If you try to trace an AOL user you will only trace to the AOL server location.

no, the ip address does not show you the exact location. because some people may be using proxy servers which may be some other parts of the world, like I am in Pakistan and my proxy server is in Germany, so people may think, that I am sitting in Germany. even when i open www.google.com it redirects me to www.google.de (German version of google.com), it should normally redirect me to www.google.com.pk(Pakistani version of google.com)
