It sounds like one of the main external conflicts is Kino VS. pearl buyers. The buyers are feeding off of the lower class, people forced to fight for survival.

The external conflicts are the people chasing them, and the people taking advantage of them . The internal conflict is weighing if the price ($$) of the pearl are worth the price (the baby) of the pearl

Oh man. I read that book in 9th grade. I hated it!! Sorry, that was 5 years ago, so I don't really remember much more than that they were on the run for a while. Good luck with that!!
