I'm dealing with a lot right now and everyone tells me to calm down all the time because I might hurt the baby. What are the chances (statistically) of losing a baby at 9 weeks? Like percentages preferably.

It depends on a number of factors.

If you haven't seen a viable fetus or a heartbeat on an ultrasound yet, your chances of having a miscarriage are 20-25%

If you have seen the heartbeat, your chances of miscarriage go down to 10%. This is because you have then ruled out a blighted ovum pregnancy, which causes 50-60% of first trimester miscarriages. You have also ruled out rarer causes such an ectopic pregnancy and a molar pregnancy.

Once you hit twelve weeks, and have seen the heartbeat, your chances of having a miscarriage go down to about 3%, as 80% of all miscarriages occur within the first trimester.

i have no idea of percentages, but a person can lose a baby at any time through out a pregnancy. I lost one at three months. A friend of mine had to have one at six and a half months. Strees could bring on a miscarriage, but it all depends also. by having everyone telling you to calm down, well that cold bother you even more. Try to relax yourself and tune them out somehow. I am sorry to hear about your low time. I hope it was nothing major. My grandfather died when I was pregnant for my daughter, and I started my labor early. So just becareful with yourself and baby. I would say have a glass of wine, hot bath with candles all around, but today people don't want you to drink. I drank when I had my kids, not a heavy drinker, just out sometimes on weekends, they came out fine. But just to relax, I don't think it would hurt you to have one. Sometimes we just need alone time. Without the stress of everyone hanging around us, and to keep syaing "don't worry". That will make you crazy. If you are really worried, talk to your doctor, they can be helpful. Good luck with everything.

You can have a miscarriage at anytime. If you are far enough along the baby has a chance of living. If not, the baby will die. Simple as that.

i don' t know the percentages. but the first 3 months is when the most can go wrong. the reasons for most misscarrages are chromizomal (bad genes). so no worries. don't get yourself worked up, just drink pleanty of water, get a little excercise (like short walks) and eat well. go window shopping for baby cloths

I'm not sure the exact percentages, but it is definitely possible. I know someone who had a miscarriage about that time. Sorry if I didn't really help.

they are still high... so if you see yourself panicing... take deep breathes... you dont want to bring on an anxiety attack... it could kill the baby... so breath... sleep, and eat lots of chocholate!!! lol
