Do you read all of the answers first, or just the question? I never read anyone's answer until i'm finished with mine. I think it might effect how I answer, but then sometimes I see something after and I want to go back and add something. What's your style??

I read the question and look through the answers to see if there are duplicate responses. I'll answer if I don't see any. But I take so long to type that when I'm done, there are tons of responses that I now just give up reading the answers and just respond if I have something I'd like to add.

yes something liket that......most of the time I think I am going to be number one to answer........and find out that I am no 20 by the time I respond !
Sometimes I read what people say first and sometimes I don't.
Indeed, sometimes I go back and check and edit : I always write "edit" but usually I cannot be bothered that much.. Since I don't give many serious answers anyway, I don't usually go back and see who got BA :-))
Depends if I have time and my mood......sure for some questions I could have gone back because I was on the right track and could have given much more info then when I was not so sure....but people are so fickle that many times : I just leave it at that.

I immediately respond with an answer while viewing the initial posting, then when I read the other details, I might change my mind, or add-on.

in my opinion it depends on what type of questions u r anwering...
as far as i am concerned i answer computer related problems, so my stlye is to raed the answers first bcos otherwise u wont kno whether ur soln has already been mentioned then repeating it wud only b a wate of time on ur part and the person who asked the question also.
reading the answers is necessary bcos otherwise u will not b able to frame ur answer

I read the answers to see if mine is redundant, I want to help, not repeat what someone else has said just to get points

I pick apart the questions because I am weird like that.

" I think it might effect how I answer" is wrong...it should be:
" I think it might affect how I answer".

Do a search for "using affect/effect" - you might learn something.

I'm an 'out of the box' answerer. I don't look at other answers until I have already answered, and then only rarely.

I say just write what you think first, that's normally the best way for me! it makes it so your answer is only what you think, not what someone else thinks!
