It would depend upon their role within the university.

Some would get a lot less than £40,000.

Some would get a lot more.

Maybe £40,000 is a good average. It depends why you ask the question, how you hope to use the information.

I would guess at around Â£30,000 pa to Â£40,000 pa based on my experience as a UK resident.
