I think it takes jobs away from human cashiers but others see advantages to it. Any thoughts?

I hate it and I refuse to use it. They are overcharging on many items and can afford some customer service.

Overall, I like it, but they still need to work out some bugs and that requires a human bean with a brain, which is hard to find now a days. I just love how cashiers go "stupid" when the power goes out. They have no math skills for the most part, and can't do anything without the machines to aid them, so why are they upset when the machines take the jobs? I say...if a machine can do my job better...let it, I'll use my brain for something better or more fun!

I think it stinks! First the baggers lost thier jobs, now the cashiers. Next they will make us go unload the trucks to get what we want.

Just right for a very few items - quicker, less hassle, but you're right; for larger transactions, the human element is important.

They are good if you have only a few things. I think they should be used in conjunction with checkout-chicks.
