I bought a logitech webcam and a free microphone headset came with it and it's not working. I can hear sound in the headphones. Just the mic isn't working. My computer tells me that it's connected and I checked all the volume controls and they were all up. When I test hardware under Sounds and Audio Devices, it normally tells me that it did not detect sound. Do you know of any way of fixing it? I've tried everything I could and it still doesn't work. Could it just be a cheap mic that the company was just giving away with the webcam?

There is a pink jack port on the back of the sound card that is for MIC. Also see if the MIC is muted from the volume control. In the volume control select Options>Advanced Controls. Then in the MIC section press the advanced key and select Microphone +20db Boost. (this will make the sound more loud)

if it is a usb mic, you need to install drivers for it, if it plugs in the mic jack, make sure that the mic is not muted in the volume control, it is by default
