the window comes up with all the products and components on, well i use to have just gray boxes, now this morning when i opened live update i had yellow and white boxes. this is hard to explain, what could have happened over night? do i need to remove/add again? i'm fairly new at this computer stuff, i have had the problem before and contacted symantic, but no results so i just bought the 06 norton,if you need more details i will b more than glad to try to explain, thanks in advance

Norton, is a great AntiVirus. But, the human create is unless by error. Norton can be error too. The problem may be came from your computer system. May be your system is infected by viruses (wherever), virus is one step modern than AntiVirus. Or, your subscription is expired! This is the primary problem! If your subscription is expired you must to pay the fee for get the new subscription!
Or your Norton file's is missing! Re-install Norton may be can solvent the problem! Or choose other (but, I can help you to choose the other). Because, othe AntiVirus is not so great and big in the corporate system. Norton is a great application to help us from malware, from the error system.

try downloading the live update by itself and installing
