IN writing is best and say "thank you for the opportunity to work with you". NEVER BURN BRIDGES!!!

Ask you boss if you can speak with them privately.

When you get them in a room alone, tell them that you want them to know that you really like you job and that he/she has been a awesome person to work for but that another opportunity recently came up that you just cant pass up.

Its something you are sincerlely interested in and that you feel like you have to follow your instinct and that unfortunately you have to give them notice today.

Hand them a typed resignation with the date and tell them you really enjoyed your time here but that you need to give your 2 week notice today.

thank them for the opportunity and that you hope he/she understands.

I have found that there are two good ways to do it.

1.) in a certified letter (that way you have proof of when it was delivered)
2.) in person

It depends on your situation. If you think you are getting screwed, then go for option 1. If you have a good relationship with your supervisor, then do it in person.
