Know what American Indians do... they have little "honey pots" ... these are about 1/2" in diameter and 1/2" high and they put a few drops of honey in these pots and place them on the window sill and the ants have a "field day" taking out that great "feast" and they don't bother to come into the house any further... they stay on the window sill and return to the nest with their load of honey... LOL... :) I lived in New Mexico... and I tried this and it worked... it was fun to watch the ants get the honey out of the pots... and they did not bother to come further into my kitchen.

But... the only other thing that I have heard that might work is to put baking soda down in the paths and entrance and to find the nest and put baking soda at the opening and around your home... and finally there is chemical spray... Some ants can be really sore when they bite you... New Mexico has "fire ants" that when they bite you it stings... causing a weal to rise on the skin and it will be sore for almost 6 weeks... so... it is wise to get rid of them... with a chemical spray.

Pick one that the ants bring back to the nest. That will kill the colony and help your ant problem greatly than just spraying them.

Try at least two different ones because some work better in some climates and types of ants than others. I rid of a HUGE colony in just one week with the little metal stakes with the hole to the food in the center.

I read the other day that regular table salt will kill ants. The article said if you put a thin line around your house, the ants won't cross it. I don't know if it really works, but I'm going to give it try before those critters start coming in.

nicely, as you're saying, they stay to tell the tale to pursue a similar situation-unfastened purposes, ie the survival of their colony. the two occupy very comparable ecological niches and as a effect would desire to compete for factors. often times species adapt so as that they do no longer fill a similar area of interest, yet commonly there is combating for factors and territory, to boot as for perceived threats by ability of yet another team. this would genuinely be utilized to ants to boot many different species

Amdro is a very good new chemical. But if you want something natural, spring grits and rice around the ant mound if you can find it.
