we have a pet grooming and a puppy store opened in our plaza, what are good marketing practices?

Please help us develop a strong relationship with our customers, what would be the best way to reward our customers? or to find new ones without them stealing ours?

Treat the pups like family. Give away treats. Throw puppy parties! This idea worked in NY for a lady who ran a dog walking business. They had the owners bring the dogs, outfits, and cameras and threw a party for the poochies. CUTE!

Start a punch card for purchases. Make a calendar with poochies birthdays on it and send the owner a card with a coupon for something in your store. People in America treat their dogs like they are children so follow that line of thinking and you will be a big hit.

Oh...and offer designer fragrances for the dogs....lol...they do it in California for the stars pets....it can work for you too.

If you have a logo hopefully it is catchy and refers to a tender environment at your shop, if not get one something like your pets home away from home people like to know their pets are in good hands. Invest in small boxes(virtually inexpensive} and have your Logo printed on them. Insert a treat one in each box and give upon pick up of the pet. Have Thank You Cards Printed with your name and Logo on them. Address them to the pet in care of the owner. Don't forget to send the pet a Christmas card and if they haven't come in lately how about sending them a "SAVE THE DATE CARD" with an appointment time and RSVP.
