I can't give you an awnser base on research or some study all I can do is tell you my opinion base on my own experience as a gay man. People say that they are born gay because they can't remember a time in their childhood where they were straight in other words they can't give you an exactly date and time and say this is when I went from been straight to being gay. Can you remember a time in your life where you were not straight? From your earliest childhood memory of when you became aware of your sexuality were you ever not straight? When I became aware of my sexuality it just happen to have been of the homosexual orientation so I assume that I was born that way and that god made me that way for a reason. I hope this answer's your question if not feel free to ask me anything.

Because they are. How else do you explain it? Were you "born straight"? Waking up and saying "I'm going to be gay" is about as likely as waking up and saying "I'm going to swim to the moon." You say that being gay is a choice (at least that's what I infer from your question). I say, prove it. Become gay for a day. And honestly try to be attracted to women.

Sound ridiculous? Of course it is. You can't do it. Simple as that.

You can't help who you fall in love with. You don't choose it. So how could it be anything but something you're born with?

Only very stupid people would deny genetics in the equation. 10 % of all animals are homosexual, including dogs, cats...etc. It is in the genes, baby. And if so, then they were born gay. Simple isn't it? Do you really think it is a choice? That idea, by implication, says that gay is better than hetero! So if I were hetero, I would certainly agree that being gay is genetic. If it were a choice, then I would have to say that it must be preferable to be being straight, otherwise, a striaght wouldn't choose to be gay.

i can honestly say that i was born a lesbian. as a child my mother would have to tear me apart from other little girls because i just loved kissing them. my mother knew i was gay then. i was about 3 at that time. as i was five i fell in love with another little girl and we would play sexual games. when i reached elementary, i learned that love is suppose to be between a man and a woman. so i tried and i got boyfriends. i still date woman. as of now i stand bisexual. usually there is an experience that turns someone gay or lesbian. its not wrong. if we are attracted to a different lifestyle and we are happy and not judged then why do people torment us. me, well I'm just loving my women.....and men.

Because they are . No one can decide what sex they are attracted to . Sexual orientation is something that you are born with . It may be suppressed and the person will try to live a different life , but eventually it will have to be recognized and dealt with . Just because someone dates girls and marries doesn't mean he is straight . Some people feel that their family expects that of them or they are afraid to risk friendships and family relationship , so they do what is considered the norm to satisfied their fiends and family .

Because it is true, most homosexuals were born gay. It is due to an overexposure to hormones of the opposite sex parent usually. But when they are not born gay, it is usually due to childhood sexual abuse. So it is not a persons fault they are homosexual.

Because the overwhelming scientific evidence is that sexuality is inborn. They say it simply because it is true.

Anectodally I knew I felt "differently" about boys by age 8, knew it was sexual by 11 and was out with a boyfriend by 14. There was never any question, never any attraction to girls at all and quite frankly a sense of complete disgust at the idea of sex with one of them.

What else would you call that, other than inborn?

Scientifically, alot of studies, most recently the fruitfly study, are compelling and in the animal kingdom we see homosexuality, including exclusive pair bonding in hundreds of species.

You think the animals picked too?

Because I love being gay so much. But we were born with no sexual orientation. We chose.
