The newer Kenmore/Whirlpool washers have a plastic lid switch that is prone to breaking. Look down into the opening that the lid strike goes into & I'm sure you"ll see a broken switch.
It's attached with two screws & the plastic body breaks & leaves it hanging. You will have to remove the cabinet from the base to change it out.

Check your outlet hose. There is a small screen that covers the outlet drain and sometimes it becomes plugged.
Then check your outlet hose, there might be build up in it.
You have to take the back of your washer off to get to this so be careful you don't lose any of the screws...

Sounds like the pump is bad in it. Buy another one, or get one second hand. You can pick one up for $50 to $75.

There are two belts. one agaitates,the other,the big one does the spinning and is connected to the pump for drainage. 18 bucks and you can do it.
