I don't think that it is appropriate to use liberal or conservative for politics anymore. Neither label accurately describes either the Democrats or the Republicans. The truth is that the successful politicians straddle the middle leaning a bit more toward their side of the aisle.

The Republicans are better at choosing one or two divisive topics and get the public to vote on that rather than on the big picture. According to the latest polls, the public is beginning to put two and two together and see through the fog.

Polls are only an indicator. The bottom line is that it comes down to voter turnout. If only we could get whoever is in office to govern on common sense, we would all be better off.

Yeah..jokes about liberals are real funny...ha ha..I guess conservatives need something funny since they lied about the reasons for war..they are letting oil executives run the US energy policy, corruption among congressmen is high, personnel data is being stolen everyday from government employees, gee, what have I left out? But, let's keep those conservatives laughing..the joke is on the working man and woman in this country. I bet the right wingers won't be laughing on election day.
