"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams
Yes, I know the movie came out last year but the movie was kinda crappy compared to the book and they had to edit a lot of stuff out to keep it w/in the 2 hrs movie time.
The book actually makes you laugh out loud
there are 5 books in the series, just pick anyone... i've read the first 3 and they're all good... they're short too, well, not too short but not LOTR long... hahaha
