I am an American, and of course I have heard of Canada.

I always say that I think the States is extremely lucky to share such a very long border with such quiet, friendly, polite, civilized neighbors!

I have nothing but respect and affection for Canada and Canadians.

It is a beautiful country, and I, for one, was always treated well when I visited there.

I have been to Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, seen Nova Scotia, and visited small towns in the Western Provinces. Lovely cities, each very different, and very interesting to see. The small towns out West were charming, and very friendly.

I've heard of you, I've visited a few times (Windsor - Toronto - Niagara Falls area). My impressions:

Canada is very clean, very friendly, very safe (the recent terrorist plot notwithstanding). The roads are well-maintained, your currency looks cool (I love having $1 and $2 coins), and I enjoyed all the things there were to do when I visited.

Why did you elect the Conservatives into power? Your new prime minister is too much like Bush. And I can't fathom putting out all that effort to make your country bilingual - why does everything have to be in English and French?

Very nice folks. My experience with the country is limited, but it seems a clean, friendly place. Pragmatic, practical. Certain difficulties with teh Francophones. Overall, it would be hard to find a better neighbor, EXCEPT: I live in the Great Plains, and you guys keep sending us your used weather every winter. BRRRRR!

I have no views on Canada. It is just as good a place as any. Every country has both good and bad. Canada is no different.
