okay first convert mixed numbers to improper fractions so you have 9 2/7 and that equals 7*9+2=65
so you have 65/7*7/8
multiply 65 by 7 and get 455
then 7*8 and get 56
so you have 455/56
convert the improper fraction to a mixed number take 445/56 and you have 8 with a remainder 7

The first thing to do is change 9 2/7 ( a compound fraction ) into a simple fraction. Since the denominator is 7 work with that. The compound fraction means nine plus two sevenths. Remember any number over itself is equivalent to one. Therefore one would be the same as 7/7. now We have nine of those , so that is 9 x7 /7 or 63/7. Add the 2/7 to 63/7 and We get 65/7. Since this is a multiplication problem it is not necessary to find a common denominator. So We set it up as 7/8 x 63/7. Multiply 7 x 63 (441) and 8 x 7 (56) and We get 441/56. This can be reduced by dividing bont numerator and denominator by 7 and We get 63/8.

well first off the answer is 8 1/8.
leave the 7/8 alone and make the 9 2/7 an improper fraction. Multiply the 9 by the denominator 7 and then add the two from the numerator to get the improper fraction of 65/7.
the sevens cancel each other out, so your fractions are now 65/1 x 1/8. multiply across, 65x1=65, 1x8=8, and get 65/8 which reduces to 8 1/8.
