Why do so many people say blondes are stupid, but then most men go nuts over them?

For the same reason everyone says Bush is so dumb, yet he was elected president of our country! Anyone who is paid close attention to is either loved or loathed it seems.

When quarter of a million people took part in the national IQ test one of the ways in which results were analyzed was by hair color, red-heads came out top and blondes came bottom. The difference isn't really all that much - just 4 IQ points between redheads and blondes (the analysis was based on natural hair color).

Of course, this is a generalization taking large numbers of people into account and doesn't mean that every redhead is super intelligent and every blonde is dumb.

As for men going nuts over them - a fallacy that stems largely from Marilyn Monroe and the film 'Gentleman Prefer Blondes' and the song 'Blondes Have More Fun'. The reality is that gentlemen prefer brunettes and in open voting it's the brunettes that come out best. Again, another generalization and there are of course some very beautiful blondes and some butt ugly brunettes.

The perception of dumb-blondes and men going crazy over them is brought about more through media stereotyping than anything else. If the media were to be believed, then there would be huge differences between the different hair color groups. The reality is, that whilst differences do exist, they are nowhere near as pronounced as the media lead us to believe.

Because some men are superficial. They care about what a girl looks like, but not what's under the hood. So as long as shes a good looking blonde who cares if shes dumb.

I think Blondes aren't any dumber than people with any other hair color. I don't know what mean person started that, but let's drag him/her into the street and shoot them (not really). But, sterotypes like that upset me.

Blondes are attractive: Marilyn Monroe proved that. Their bimbo reputation appeals to the insecure, who need to feel superior.

And a well established combination of the two factors leads to sexual attraction. Natural blondes have the advantage over wannabes--look at any nude natural blonde woman and you'll see why.

Note that in this straight, gay, lesbian and bisexual mixed up society, I didn't bash males or females.....of which both are attracted to blonde women.

I'll add that 90% of the time, the people who tell blonde jokes with snarky malicious intent are insecure darker-haired females. That should tell you a lot.

It's a stereo type. It has come from the good handful that act like dingbats and giggle at everything they say or you say. Unfortunately, I have seen a good handful that behave like that. They act cute, think that they know they are cute and so on. I think that guys see them as being an easy target.

Granted I am not saying that is the case for EVERYONE.

P.S. Being smarter than a guy is a bigger turn on that the color of your hair.
